Our Mission & Purpose
OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of this church shall be the advancement of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. It shall seek to attain this end by the public worship of God, the preaching of the Gospel, consistent Christian living by its members, evangelism, discipleship, and Christian education.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Second Baptist Church is contained in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20. The church shall seek to attain this end by the public worship of God, preaching of the Gospel, mature Christian living through discipleship and evangelism. With this end as our mission, the two great pillars of the SBC are contained in making mature disciples and evangelism.
